Winner of the Term

Dear Parents,
This academic year we had so many children unlocking their potential at school. Abbie was diagnosed with Dyslexia only a few weeks before she started the programme. Here’s what Mum had to say:
‘As promised, please find below some words to express how improved Abbie has been since we started the programme over a year ago.
We are so grateful for all the support provided to Abbie, academically we had improved tremendously and had grown in confidence.

Abbie managed to get 76% in her end of term science exam which was such a huge surprise for her. Her memory and recall skills have significantly improved and she finds languages so much easier and enjoys taking part in these lessons now.

Maths has always been a challenge but her ability is vastly different now and she tackles the problem solving far more confidently. Her reports this term had 2 As and 2 B level results with all of her subjects with levels 4 and 5 for her high efforts put in – this would have been totally unimaginable a year ago.

There is no doubt this programme and your support has broken down the barriers on her education route and will change her focus and attention in future. Many thanks for all of your help.’

Every child can improve despite all challenges and I think Abbie proves that nicely. Hope you had a great summer.
Kind regards

Winner of the Week

Our winner of the week is Daniel, his Mum has kindly kept us uptodate with his progress at school.

Daniel has been getting consistently high marks in all of his Maths tests and also in his end of year exam. The school will move him up a maths set at the start of next term. He also gets lots of weekly awards in Maths and this week he came in the top two again of awards in his year group.  I’m so proud of how far he has come in the past year.
We are too, and so she should be, well done Daniel!!

Winner of the Week

Dear Parents,

Our winner this week is Daniel, the following is from his mum.

Here’s the school website photo of Daniel this week. Only the top one or two in a year get to be on the photo. He’s been on it 8 weeks out of 30 weeks so far this year.

Last week his textiles teacher gave him a Gold Award and 4 Silvers in recognition that he had scored 29 progress points when the target for Year 7 students is 10 progress points. She emailed me this “Daniel is very creative and he also understands the techniques and processes we explored in the project. He was also able to articulate his ideas and connections to the artists/ culture we explored, what he wrote came from his lips . It was an outstanding achievement in all of the four assessment objectives.”

I’ve attached a photo of the final piece of fabric that he designed himself and printed using wax and inks. Sorry it’s not a good photo, as you can see my reflection in it, but you get the idea.

And last week his English teacher gave him a Silver award for impressive improvement in his spelling test scores.

Lis

Keep up with the good work Daniel, very impressive!

Winner of the Week

Dear Parents,
Our winner of the week is Daniel who has received various awards and recognition from his teachers for his progress and achievements.
This is what Daniel’s mum has to say:

Daniel’s progress has been great since he started secondary school last September, but the achievements this term have been remarkable. His school gives bronze, silver and gold awards throughout the whole year for both effort and achievement in all academic subjects, both for classwork and for homework. Every week the Deputy Head takes a photo for the website of the top 2 students in each year. This term Daniel has come overall top in his year a total of 5 times, second once, and has been in the top ten every week. There are 210 students in his year. This is an amazing achievement for a boy on the autism spectrum, who was considered to be approximately 5 years behind academically and socially when he left primary school. Daniel has made spectacular progress in maths, ICT and reading. He has done some test completely independently for the first time ever. He even scored 100% on a KS3 maths test. Daniel has won additional awards for his artwork. He has also started to learn the piano and his teacher is thrilled with his progress. We are so proud of his hard work, great attitude and wonderful progress.

Winner of the Week

Dear Parents,

Our winner of the week is Ishtihaq for his fantastic change in attitude at school, his teacher felt compelled to call his mum and
this is what she had to say:

Ishtihaq’s Geography Teacher (Mrs Karim) rung me to advise that Ishtihaq is now showing a positive attitude towards learning and is taking constructive steps towards achieving, an improvement he is more than capable of achieving. She further added he listens to what the teacher is saying rather than talking with friends or allowing his mind to wander.

Well Done Ishtihaq!, keep up the hard work!

With practice every child can progress!!

Winner of the Week

Dear Parents,
I have just received this lovely testimonial:
One year ago I was told that my 6-year-old daughter was at least a year behind in reading, and more than that in handwriting. I could see she was struggling, always tired and rubbing her eyes during reading and homework. I contacted C4X and we started the programme.
One year on, my daughter has just become a free reader, alongside her peers. She is really proud of her achievement, and enthusiastic about reading. In addition her focus and concentration have improved – she is less tired. She is better able to learn her weekly spellings and times tables.
Physically, having been stuck at the same level in swimming lessons for nearly three years, within six months of starting the programme she moved up a level and now enjoys swimming, with much more confidence.
Her next goal is to improve her handwriting and get her pen licence, her teacher reports that her writing is already becoming neater and smaller. We are all confident that, by continuing to work with C4X, she will achieve her goal.

My message to all parents with children with Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD that they can unlock their potential!

Well Done Lara!, keep up the hard work

With practice every child can progress!!
